Brand positioning and identity for Bristol Aero Collection Trust’s new heritage museum and final home of the jewel in the collection - Concorde 216. Aerospace Bristol’s mission is to inspire, educate and entertain. Their focus is on championing STEM subjects and to act as a hub for learning in the local community. They are also a destination brand, that holds a permanent record of the pioneering engineering that has made the site in Filton world-famous.
Our idea was simple. An iconic paper aeroplane mark representative of ideas taking off. After all, the first aeroplane started as a sketch, the first engine a scribble on a page. The perfect symbol for a place where ideas take flight.
Created as part of the team at Elmwood.
“All great design is often obvious after the event, in addition a graphic identity needs to convey thought, meaning, personality, be memorable and connect as well to a child as to a sophisticated adult... but to be really outstanding it has to make other designers feel that they wish they had thought of it.”
